Abstract
Describes a program used for identifying the executable software configuration installed on a computer. The application, Auditor´s Aid allows an auditor to automatically identify what programs (and versions) reside on a given system. The approach discussed generates a checksum and uses this value as a primary key (not to be confused with an encryption key) into a configuration table. The prototype described operates on an IBM PC platform
