Abstract :
The dynamics of hybrid systems with mode dynamics of different dimensions is described. The first part explores structural properties of such multi-mode multidimensional (M3D) systems. The second part considers such models under sequential switching at random times. More specifically, the backward Kolmogorov equation is derived. This is applied to a causally restricted hybrid system containing a mode with delay. Causal restriction is necessitated by the condition ¿¿ ¿ 1 which must be imposed on systems with time-variant delay, ¿ (t).
