Abstract
Power efficiency is one of the most important aspects in mobile networks. Much research has been done in saving power for mobile devices. This paper resents a power management scheme that maximizes energy saving in wireless ad hoc networks while still meeting the required quality of service (QOS) in an industrial work environment. Both the MAC payer and the physical layer conceptually have management entities, which are termed the MAC layer management entity (MLME) and the physical layer management entity (PLME) respectively. These entities provide a service interface for layer management functions. This paper introduces how to power management by MLME and PLME.
