Abstract
The nonlinear process of two-photon absorption has been used for the construction of an all-optical ultra-fast switch. Our results indicate that the switching window is limited simply by the signal and control pulsewidths. We will demonstrate for the first time the feasibility of using the nonlinear effect of two-photon absorption (TPA) in a commercial laser diode, to carry out high speed, all-optical switching
