Abstract :
High power single-transverse mode operation has been demonstrated in multimode Er-doped fibre. Fundamental mode propagation was preserved by optimisation of the spatial distribution and doping level of erbium within multimode core. Improved performance of the multimode fibre based amplifier has been demonstrated
