Abstract
This paper proposes a QoS mechanism for cable modem in HFC access network after discussing the different network QoS mechanisms and studying the DOCSIS1.1 QoS standards in-depth. This mechanism ensures bandwidth, delay and delay jitter of multi-services for different kinds of IP data by classifier, traffic shaping, transmission ordering and scheduling. This article introduces services guarantee and dynamic service initiation technology in detail. This mechanism also can be used as a reference design for QoS architecture in other network-access equipment.
