Abstract :
A didactic overview of modeling of biothermal processes on microscopic scales will be presented. Examples will be drawn from the author´s research in the areas of cryopreservation, hyperthermia, and fever. Considering length scales ranging from molecular to cellular (10 -9 to 10-4m), governing biothermal processes must be modeled using nonequilibrium thermodynamics
