Abstract
The ACTS project AC349 PRISMA introduces a new system concept for broadband fibre-wireless networks employing flexible HDWDM techniques enabling dynamic network reconfiguration. First simulation results show a dramatic increase in network utilisation compared to a network with a fixed configuration. Dynamic wavelength reconfiguration in the fibre part of fibre-wireless networks can provide significant gains in network utilisation, by improving operation efficiency and hosting a wide range of independent services
