Abstract
Due to the adoption of wavelength division multiplexing technology, a single failure may potentially cause more burdens than ever before. Optical recovery schemes will therefore become inherently attractive. In this paper, we study how optical layer survivability can be introduced in SDH-over-WDM transport networks
