Abstract :
A new broadcast-and-select WDM/TDM local network architecture is proposed for constructing a future low-cost broadband network. As a feasibility study, the switching of 100-Mbit/s channels from a 20-Gbit/s×3-WDM data-stream is demonstrated and bit-error rates are measured; the power penalties are less than 1.9 dB across the entire tuning range
