Abstract
PET imaging has become an invaluable tool in the evaluation and management of thoracic abnormalities. While FDG-PET can not uniformly provide all the requisite information for patient evaluation, it provides a new model and direction for functional imaging. As one learns more about the biology of diseases and integrate advances in biomedical technology, this type of approach suggests non-invasive biochemical or metabolic imaging will be invaluable in patient management
