Abstract :
Satellites are playing more and more important roles in human society. With satellites being launched into space, space debris number also increases. They are becoming great risks to the satellites. Therefore, space situation awareness is vital for the safety of current and future space activity. In this paper, a space situation simulation and visualization platform based on the Object-Oriented Graphics Rendering Engine (OGRE) is proposed, for better understanding and analysis of current and historical space situation. The architecture design of the platform is introduced first. Then, OGRE-based implementation is discussed in details. The test results shows that its efficiency and rendering effects. After complementation and improvement, the future platform will bring more and more benefits for space situation awareness.
