Abstract :
A prediction of the 54 GHz-band multipath propagation characteristics in typical urban and rural environments are clarified. The analysis depends on actual measured results. To analyze the propagation in an outdoor environment, the three dimensional model based on geometrical optics and the uniform geometrical theory of diffraction is employed. Prediction by the three dimensional ray tracing method needs a detailed map, which records locations and shapes of obstacles surrounding a transmitter and a receiver. The results are demonstrated and comparisons are made between the simulated results and the experimental data. Good agreement between the measured results and prediction is obtained
