Abstract
There is a large quantity of literature in the area of integrating information technology (IT) into the education domain. Besides those relevant to the technologies and their development, most literature in this area is from people in the education domain. There is a misunderstanding and a gap between the perceptions from people in the technology domain and people in the education domain. Those in the technology domain, however, may not bother themselves to think deeply or neglect to express their point of view in this area. In this paper, the views on IT in education are presented from the angle of technology. The current situation and the possible future directions in this area are analyzed in detail. Some history of technology in education and the contemporary and influential theories in this area are briefly introduced.
