Abstract
This report proposes an up-link transmission power control method in which the mobile station transmission power is controlled in a closed-loop according to the priority for satisfying the quality requirement set for each medium. Weighting coefficients corresponding to the priorities of the medium are set and the mobile station transmission power is controlled to minimize the evaluation function, which is the sum of weighted squares of the differences between the actual and target communication qualities for the individual medium according to the steepest descent method. The algorithm of the proposed method is first explained, followed by an evaluation of the fundamental characteristics of the proposed method, and the superiority of the proposed method is clarified through comparison with conventional methods
