Abstract :
Development of prototype is important phase of technologies for electric vehicles (EVs). The cost estimate of the development phase of prototype is required to minimize production cost in the future. This paper proposed an application to estimate production cost of EVs prototype. By using this application, users do not need to formulate the model to calculate a cost estimation despite the product specification is different. The application incorporates database, model base, analysis tool, and graphical user interface (GUI) and user. The model considers parameters such as number of researchers, duration of research, and a number of experimental activities. The parameters are influenced by complexity level of prototype. The object of this case study is a Research and Development (R&D) for Indonesia EV Consortium Team Sebelas Maret University. The application is capable of providing cost estimates that may be a consideration for the R&D team to make a cost allocation, production process planning, and minimize cost.
