  • Abstract
This paper discusses the possibility of using solar, geothermal, water, and wind energies in the Tomsk region. The basis of the research in the field of possibilities of renewable energy sources in the Tomsk region is annual climatologically data. In this paper, renewable sources were investigated as the possible energy resources with particular qualities and preconditions. Renewable resources depend on the seasonal variations, therefore they could be put into operation as small decentralized sources of energy to support central energy supply. Energy supply reliability is provided by the complex use of different energy plants in combination with conventional power plants.
