Abstract
For non-geostationary multi-satellite land mobile satellite (LMS) services system complexity is tremendously increased compared to conventional systems. Empirical and statistical models are no longer sufficient to model all major effects associated with propagation issues. This contribution outlines a wideband model that is capable to simulate the complete motion dynamics of the satellites and the mobile, as well as the effects of multiple visibility. A broad range of validity and application is achieved due to a versatile description of the mobile´s proximity and the use of physical propagation models based on ray tracing
