Abstract :
Information Technology has revolutionized the life style of the modern society. The industry is playing a leading role to define future trends of information technology and its dimensions. A strong interaction of academia with industry is desirable to bootstrap the research and development activity. Software components are the dominant input in the area of Information Technology. Government of Pakistan has played an important role in providing the required infrastructure for development. Academic Institutions have made a significant quantitative progress by producing a large number of IT graduates. However standardized curricula and quality of graduates needs to be ensured in order to compete with the international players and make Pakistan a strong hub of Information Technology. By following the right direction, we can become inventors of technology and not remain in the lagging mode as only the user of technology
