Abstract
At microwave and millimeter-wave frequencies, the complex permittivity data can be fitted to the single Debye relaxation equation for biological materials. A simple and explicit method is used with complex permittivity data to obtain low-frequency permittivity (εs), and relaxation time (τ) by assuming high-frequency permittivity (ε∞). It is found that the fitted values of Debye parameters (εs and τ) for the palm region of human skin in vivo are very different from those reported earlier. Also, εs value for the sole region of human skin in vivo is significantly lower than the palm region of human skin in vivo. This is due to lower water content in the sole region as compared with the palm region.
