Abstract :
Polyurethane resins derived from castor oil have proved to have excellent dielectric characteristics when pure. However, for use in electrical insulation, these materials must be loaded with filler, to reduce their cost and make them more able to withstand external agents, without altering their mechanical characteristics significantly. The aim of this article is to report the performance of the resins when loaded with carbon black and mineral fillers, with reference to electrical, mechanical and thermal requirements
