Abstract :
A novel infinite impulse response (IIR) adaptive gradient instrumental variable echo canceler (GIVE) is presented. Its features include adaptive controllability during double-talk periods, guarantee of global convergence; and low computation cost. The optimum step size for GIVE and three suboptimum algorithms are proposed to accelerate convergence and reduce misadjustment. A simple recipe for the stability guarantee of an IIR filter and a configuration of GIVE applicable to closed-loop systems are also presented
