Abstract
Investigations were performed on the heating time (tk) and the power applied to the inductor at the end of heating (Peg) and complete losses in the inductor (DeltaP) as a function of the section of the heated blank in heating up to different temperatures. The results show that an increase in heating time in the increasing section of the heated blank is due to the necessity of the great quantity of the applied energy and, in this case, such kind of dependence gives the capability of reaching maximal efficiency. The power applied to the inductor was found to decrease with an increase in the though it should increase. The dependences were found to be arranged top down: circular inductor for the plates heating, oval inductor, circular inductor for heating cylindrical blanks. Such dependences distribution is mainly due to the difference in losses. In the case of the circular inductor for heating cylindrical blanks, the losses are the lowest as the surface area of the cylinder is the lowest for equal sections.
