Abstract :
A distributed image database system based on the integrated services digital network (ISDN) and its related technologies is developed. The system is outlined, and the technologies of the server-client model adapted for ISDN communication, such as multiservers, remote procedure call (RPC), and remote retrieval, are discussed. The application of the proposed system is described. The feasibility of the server-client approach has been confirmed by implementing a hotel reservation system
