Abstract :
It is well known that gap, small curved surface would be created by the failure of transformation between design and analysis software for complicated model. Holes caused by these flaws in the model cause calculation divergence. The whole finite element mesh (FEM) model meshed by general FEM software shows that the number of the holes is comparatively smaller in relation to triangle elements and each hole consists of only a few nodes. The paper proposes a new method using adjacency matrix to group and repair the holes. Adjacency matrix is built according to connected weight. BFS algorithm and marked array are applied to traversing the adjacency matrix and firstly grouping the holes, and then to grouping the holes including more than one polygon with the adjacency matrix removed articulation node. At last, repairing method are provided according to the above-mentioned groups. The result shows that the method is quite effective in optimizing the shape and layout of the triangle elements of complicated FEM model
