Abstract :
One of the unsolved problems in applying the constant modulus algorithm (CMA) is the initialization of CMA and the re-initialization when CMA is trapped in an undesirable local minimum. A new re-initialization scheme for CMA is proposed by exploiting the structure of the minimum mean square error (MMSE) equalizer and connections between the constant modulus and the MMSE equalizers. The proposed scheme, referred to as the channel surfing re-initialization (CSR), searches in the channel parameter space for the constant modulus equalizer with minimum mean square error.
