  • Abstract
    In this paper, a simulation process for a communication network of multi-layer satellite constellation is described. And we discuss the models of the physical channel in satellite networks, the simulation of it with NS simulator and the effectiveness evaluation result of the simulation. There are two models mainly discussed in this paper: one is the visibility model; the other is the power propagation model with an antenna model. Using these models, we improve the capability and precision of the satellite simulator in NS simulator. Then we use the extended NS simulator to simulate the satellite network we build. At last, the transmission ability of the communication network is evaluated with our criteria hierarchy system of effectiveness evaluation
