Abstract :
The AIST super cluster consists of more than 3000 processors and is one of the largest-scale cluster systems in Japan. It was delivered in March 2004, and started operation in April 2004. It is used as the basis of high-performance computing environments for grid computing. The objectives of AIST super cluster are: to establish the technology of constructing large-scale cluster systems with thousands of connected processors, to be used in nanotechnology, bio-informatics and other research fields, and to serve as the core system for cooperation between industries, academy and government. This system consists of three cluster sub systems and a storage sub system.
