Abstract :
Summary form only given. Universities have begun to recognize that there is a revolution under way in how knowledge is being created, shared, used-and reused-and that many of the old methods of teaching and learning simply will no longer work. The authors propose a series of five experiments over the next three years, covering a range of faculty issues and interests through which they hope to answer fundamental questions on the nature and effectiveness of "intellectual collectives" faculty alliances. This presentation discusses and outlines the rationale for the new intellectual collectives initiative, briefly describes the five proposed experiments and expands upon the digital learning and library environment database support system.
