Benzoic acid and salicylic acid are two main effective components in Compound Pseudolaric Tincture, a traditional Chinese patent medicines for treatment skin disease. It is difficult to separate the acids by capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE). Moreover, it is a time-consuming and tedious procedure to search for the optimal condition. A method is established for determining benzoic acid and salicylic acid by CZE using partial least squares (PLS) method instead of separation. The quantification results are satisfied.
