Abstract :
The three-phase thyristor rectifiers generate harmonics on the AC network side as as well as on the direct current load. Their performances degrade when functioning under nonideal conditions, in particular when the network voltages are unbalanced. In this article, the performance parameters such as power factor, rate of individual and global harmonic distortion of 6 and 12 phase rectifiers are examined under different unbalanced voltage and load conditions in order to compare the harmonic perturbations created by the different converters. The algebraic expressions of the harmonics are established with the aid of commutation functions.
