Abstract :
WRKY transcription factor proteins belong to the WRKY super family of zinc finger transcription factors that have been subject to a large plant-specific diversification. Using RT PCR approaches, a genomic DNA from tomato was cloned. Sequence analysis showed that it contained 3 introns and 4 extrons, and it encoded a protein, named as LeWRKYl, which consisted of 399 amino acids. LeWRKYl belongs to the group II WRKY transcription factor. LeWRKYl. Phylogenetic analysis showed that it had the same origin with Capsicum annuum´s WRKY (ADD62692).
