Abstract :
Future broadband integrated services digital networks (B-ISDN) may operate at terabit per second (Tb/s) data rates. These networks will use optical switches and regenerators, requiring optical clock recovery. B-ISDNs will also make use of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology. Currently, all-optical clock recovery is only possible for single wavelength systems. In this paper we present results showing all-optical clock recovery in a two channel WDM system using stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS)
