Abstract
The dual pump four wave mixing (FWM) in semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) has been proposed as a promising method to achieve high efficiency and signal to background noise ratio (SBR), specially for large wavelength shifts. In the present work experimental study and theoretical modeling of the mixing processes generating the converted signal will be presented. Moreover, the operation of the dual pump converter in a 10 Gb/s experiment will be demonstrated.
