Abstract :
The authors describe the drive components required for reliable operation of high-pressure grinding rolls and their sizing criteria, based on torque and power measurements performed under various starting and operating conditions. They also describe the alternatives for drive configurations that meet the requirements for this type of equipment, with the goal of an economic drive train design, including speed-reducer protection and reliable operation. It is concluded that, when used in the cement production process for grinding raw material and clinker, the high-pressure grinding roll has saved grinding energy and rendered a higher output than other processes.<>
