Abstract :
We have proposed and demonstrated a tunable L-band 16 × 200GHz multi-wavelength fiber laser using cascaded semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) and optical slicer. By employing this simple scheme and through the proper control of the polarization controller, we were able to generate uniform multi-wavelength operation of up to 16 laser lines with the signal-to-noise ratio over 40dB and 1.6-nm wavelength spacing at room temperature. Moreover, the output stability of the multiwavelength laser has also been discussed and analyzed.
