Abstract :
Eight new types of single-phase power-factor correction (PFC) circuits using active and/or passive filtering technologies are described. These comply with IEC 1000-3-2 limits. From the results of experiments with these PFC circuits, the individual performance is confirmed. Also presented are eight circuit topologies that make clear the relative cost, volume, weight and applicable power range of the circuits. The final part of this paper summarizes these evaluation results
