Abstract :
Following a matrix analysis approach the sensitivity penalty of a CPFSK transmission system impaired by group velocity dispersion (GVD), self-phase modulation (SPM) and ASE noise has been theoretically obtained. An excellent match of the penalty estimates between theory and experiment is observed. The simulation results slightly overestimate the penalty
