Abstract :
The development of semiconductors has upgraded our life environment for half a century advancing the progress of electronic appliances. While this trend is becoming increasingly prominent, the semiconductors progress in the era of System LSI has been developing the highly-networked information society bringing about changes in living space. In this article, I introduce the latest System LSI and its role in electronic appliances at first. Then, I discuss System LSI´s future developments and problems to be solved. Additionally, the author discusses the packages and the packaging technologies required for System LSI and their problems.
