Abstract :
Optical generation and distribution of millimeter waves have become an intensive research topic recently. A main field of possible applications is the millimeter-wave (MMW) wireless distribution of broadband data in future fiber-radio cellular systems. In this paper a new approach for the generation of MMW carriers in a fiber-radio system is presented. Utilizing radio-node upconversion of the distributed information signals and subcarrier multiplex (SCM) technique, problems of chromatic dispersion and radiofrequency interference are avoided
