Abstract :
Power quality effects of DC distribution upon load connected within the DC installation have been studied. Little examination has thus far been made of the effects of a DC distribution architecture upon power quality in the utility supply feeders. This study uses a test case simulation to demonstrate a reduction in harmonic current distortion in the distribution feeders supplying a customer installation. The example models a lighting circuit; many alternative loads offer possibilities.
