Abstract :
During the 1996-97 academic year, freshman and sophomore curriculum teams from the College of Engineering and Science at Louisiana Tech (USA) began developing new curricula and educational strategies to better meet the needs of their graduates. Specific goals were to improve students´ abilities in the eleven skills areas listed in ABET´s Criteria 2000, to better prepare students for subsequent engineering classes and professional careers, and to improve retention.
