Abstract
A 2D finite element procedure is presented for the analysis of a permanent magnet DC motor for automotive application. A 13.5 V, 2 pole motor for a rear wiper is analyzed and the simulation results have been compared with experimental ones. Moreover, a design optimization has been carried out in order to reduce the cogging torque
