Abstract :
MedNet is a mobile network system primarily aimed at meeting the needs of medical service providers (MSPs). MedNet addresses two important facets of research in patient care, namely, providing just-in-time medical care within hospital and outside of it, whilst offering the convenience of working "any where any time" for the service provider. MedNet is being developed through the judicious use of mobile devices and software services through an integrated information environment. A decision support capability which is context-aware and a mobile agent mechanism are part of this system design. The intelligent agent based system can deliver patient-specific information and other medical data to the service provider in real time. MedNet is perceived to bring in significant advantages in providing seamless, directed information to MSPs.
