Abstract :
Along with the rapid improvement of the measurement instruments capability and network technology, the resources sharing and collaborative work implementing in measurement system have been in front us. In order to solute these problems, a novel remote measuring and controlling system is presented. In this paper, it takes the instrument of Time Interval Counter SR620´s remote measuring and controlling system as an example. The system was designed and implemented by using C language base on the platform of virtual instrument LabWindows/CVI which realized the real-time remote measuring and controlling the instrument. This paper describe the advantage of network instruments first, the system module architecture and design development process are given later. Moreover, a method of extending measurement ability of the Time Interval Counter is proposed in order to measure automatically, graphically and intelligently. The results show that the proposed system can enable interoperability and reuse within the remote measuring and controlling system. So, it makes the system function stronger.
