Abstract :
Due to customer demands toward better driving comfort, the automatic climate (temperature) control becomes one of the most important issues for automobile engineers. The system is of high order and operated in the presence of several disturbances. The control algorithm should be able to control the evaporator outlet temperature with acceptable control action. In this work, the sliding mode control is adopted for its advantage of dealing with a high order system. Besides, several linear and nonlinear observers are proposed such that the controller may be implemented under the constraint of limited sensor sets
