Abstract
The transverse electric scattering from a right interior angle wedge (270° wedge) with a slot in one of its faces is considered. The slot is backed by a parallel-plate waveguide. This problem is being studied for he purpose of determining how a slot affects the scattering from such a structure. The equivalence principle is used to replace the slot aperture with a conductor with magnetic surface currents on each side. The method of moments with pulse basis functions and point matching is used to find an approximation for these equivalent magnetic currents. These approximation currents are then used to calculate the scattered fields. A computer program that implements this procedure has been developed, and numerical results for various scattering configurations and a comparison against published data are presented. It is found that the analysis does appear to accurately model the corner loaded by a slot. It is observed that as the slot size and waveguide loading is varied, the slot scattering is changed
