Title :
Properties and applications of wideband Cramer-Rao bounds

Abstract :
In this paper, the Cramer-Rao Bound on the angle estimates of non-zero bandwidth signals incident on an array of sensors is derived. The resulting expressions are applied to a variety of array steering architectures such as conventional phase steering and time-delay steering/focusing matrices. The results have a number of practical applications, e.g., determining the minimum number of directions where time-delay steering/focusing is required in order to obtain good all-round performance
