Abstract :
In the second part of this two-part paper, the mathematical model of U-core permanent magnet machines is derived and used to determine the steady state performance of a prototype machine. Based on this model, the current and torque are calculated as function of time, allowing the design and optimization of this kind of machine to be undertaken. The theoretical curves are compared with measured ones, obtained with a prototype machine built and tested
