Abstract
Lab on a chip systems are an integral part of the current research and are expanding to clinical applications. In the design process for biomedical devices the system integration of all instrumentation has to be adapted to the new requirements. Thus, a precision positioning device with an integration of fluid handling and fluorescence detection components was designed. The evaluation shows that a repeat accuracy of a few microns can be achieved with low mechanical complexity.
